EMS INSTRUCTOR ADVANCED

Job Description

• POSITION SUMMARY
  
  • The EMS Instructor (Advanced) will be assigned duties relative to all areas of EMS education and will be responsible to the EMS Education Coordinator for carrying out such duties.
    
• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  
  • Licenses and Certifications Required
    
    • Nationally Registered Paramedic
      
    • Eligible for EMT-P license in North Dakota - must obtain within 90 days
      
    • AHA Instructor of CPR/ACLS/PALS - must obtain within 90 days
      
    • Incident Command certification in North Dakota, preferred
      
    • PHTLS Instructor, preferred
      
  • Educational Requirements
    
    • EMT-Paramedic, as evidenced by licensure
      
  • Experience Requirements
    
    • Must have appropriate medical or allied health education, training, and experience
      
    • Knowledge about methods of instruction, testing, and evaluation of students
      
    • Must have field experience in the delivery of out-of-hospital emergency care
      
    • Must be knowledgeable on current national curricula, national accreditation, national registration, and the requirements for state certification or licensure
      
  • Special Skills or Training Requirements
    
    • Computer experience required
      
    • Microsoft Office experience preferred
      
    • Ability to work with a wide variety of people
      
    • Knowledge of current trends, developments, and concepts in pre-hospital care
